Doak Elementary School Library

The goal of our library is to promote a love of reading to develop life-long readers. We strive to support our students and teachers with a wide range of materials that will support all levels of learning.  Our collection is constantly changing to meet the needs of our school community.

We currently have over 10,000 books in circulation.  We serve students in grades Pre-Kindergarten - fifth, with scheduled classes and check-out for our Kindergarten - fifth graders.

Some of our books have been donated to our library in memory or honor of special people in our school community.  Others have been donated to celebrate student birthdays.  Bookplates are placed in the front of all donated books.  If interested in donating or joining the Birthday Book Club, please contact Mrs. Slagle.

We currently use the computerized reading program, Accelerated Reader.  Several classrooms track and celebrate progress based on individualized goals.  In the library, we track and celebrate total words read.
